人の境界
いつか見た風景を思い返すとき、限りなく広がっていたはずの光景は、
不思議と絵画のようにトリミングされたかたちで立ち現れることが多いように思います。
場所との関わりや思い出によって、人生の中の大切な場面となり、心に残る記憶へ変化する風景。
目の前に広がる光景を切り取り、記憶とし て保存すること―
それは、人の境界をかたちづくる行為なのかもしれないと考えます。
人を人たらしめるもの。
自分と他者を分かつもの。
このシリーズでは、特定の風景の記憶には依らず、
絵の具の広がりに任せながら、色や形へ意識を向けて制作しました。
そこから立ち上がる風景を探ること。
想像が始まる場所を見出すこと。
それが、この画題に込めた試みです。

The Boundary of Perception
When I recall a landscape once seen,
I often find that the scenery—though it must have stretched out endlessly—
reemerges in my mind as if it had been trimmed like a painting,
framed within invisible borders.
Through personal memories and connections to place,
certain landscapes become significant moments in one’s life—
transforming into cherished memories.
To frame what lies before us and preserve it as memory—
perhaps this, too, is an act that shapes
the boundaries of being human.
The things that make us who we are.
The things that separate us from others.
In this series, I did not rely on specific landscapes from memory.
Instead, I surrendered to the movement of the paint,
focusing on color and form.
What emerged was an exploration—
not of what I had seen, but of what I could begin to imagine.
To find the place where imagination begins—
that is the pursuit contained within this title.
